If a tooth is lost and a patient doesn't want the traditional
treatment of a bridge, an implant is a perfect solution. After
some measurements and preparation, the implant is surgically
placed in the desired location. It is typically covered, with
tissue, for a short period of time. Once the implant is strong
enough, the new tooth is placed on the prosthetic "root."
Dentures can even be placed on strategically placed implants,
which offer a wonderful alternative to unstable dentures.
